Become Part of ARCA’s Donor Family in 2017
Become a Member of Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts
It’s a wonderful time to be a part of the ARCA Membership Family as we begin our second decade. This bold cultural adventure, bringing glorious music and art to the beautiful Allegheny-Clarion River Valley, continues to be possible only because of the support of ARCA’s loyal and generous Members and Donors. We thank you for your support in the past and invite you to be a part of this year’s exciting festivities.
Once again your ARCA membership will give you discount pricing for events right here in the Valley that otherwise would only be available in larger cities at higher ticket prices (not to mention travel and parking). But as our ARCA family knows, it’s much more than that. ARCA is a place for you to come with your family and socialize with your friends and make new friends – at concerts, our annual Membership picnic, special donors events and at the very popular Meet the Artist and post-concert receptions at the Red Brick Gallery.
The 2017 season promises to be more dynamic than ever with concert premieres of world celebrated new artists, the return of audience favorites, seasoned and celebrated teaching artists in the schools and inspiring new exhibits at the Red Brick Gallery.
Beginning in February, the Winter season opens with a Valentine’s Cabaret with clarinetist Susanne Ortner and guitarist John Marcinizyn, an ARCA “first” presenting Pittsburgh’s Resonance Works’ production of the musical theatre revue Side by Side by Sondheim, and a joyous St. Patrick’s Day celebration with Carnival of Souls. And ARCA continues its commitment to arts education bringing the Akropolis Reeds teaching artists to conduct a residency in the Allegheny-Clarion Valley Schools.
The Spring season brings back the Pittsburgh Symphony Chamber Players, cabaret songstress Judi Figel, and theatre organist Walt Strony with a post concert reception at RiverStone mansion celebrating Paul McKissick’s 90th birthday for ARCA donors of $100 and above.
Making debuts in Foxburg in 2017 are Andres Cardenes, Internationally acclaimed soloist and former Concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Symphony, and pianist Sean Kennard, prize winner in the Queen Elizabeth competition, make their debuts later in the year and by popular demand Benny Benack is bringing his band to Lincoln Hall.
Donna Edmonds, Artistic Director of the Red Brick Gallery and Gift Shop, promises another enticing year of exhibits by both visiting artists and ARCA’s award-winning resident cooperative artists members. For the third consecutive year, the RBG season will open in April with an inspiring exhibit of artwork by talented students in Anita Allen’s art classes at Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School, which you won’t want to miss! Current members of the Red Brick Gallery Artist Cooperative are Cheri Lee Anderton-Yarnell, Mark DeWalt, Donna Edmonds, Cindy Ford, Blanche Hall, Angela Taylor Hardwick, Nick J. Karellas, Dennis Keyes, Jason Floyd Lewis, Paul O’Neil, Ray Rossi, Glenn and Linda Thompson, and Cathy and Jack Trzeciak. With your help in 2017, Red Brick Gallery exhibits and Gift Shop offerings promise to delight and inspire, continuing this high standard of excellence.
Because ticket sales cover only a fraction of the cost of events that it presents, ARCA relies on financial support from businesses, foundations, government agencies, and most importantly, individuals like you to make up the difference. Your gift is greatly appreciated, and helps make ARCA a vibrant contributor to the culture and sense of community of this region.
ARCA’s Board of Directors plans to build prudently on the successful accomplishments of the past three years, which have earned trust and support. In 2017 ARCA is taking steps to further stabilize its financial base and secure its future. Thanks to a visionary multi-year gift given four years ago by Board member Barbara Bott and her husband Bob Jennings, ARCA was able to fund technological advances with its website and internal fiscal operations and hire a professional Executive Director. Now to institutionalize this prudent and streamlined growth, ARCA’s challenge is to replace this financial impetus by attracting new Memberships and securing increased gifts from its dedicated members and donors, while building its Board and volunteers.
Thank you for Membership gift in 2017, helping ARCA create a legacy for the future, enriching lives and expanding hearts and minds through the power of music and art.
