Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said, “A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.”  At the conclusion of a performance or a Red Brick Gallery exhibit opening, that appreciation of beauty is readily apparent in your smiling faces and expressions of being touched and moved by the experience. Food for the soul is at the heart of ARCA’s mission to present artful offerings to our ARCA family, immediate community and the greater region.

Your recognition of the importance that this non-profit means in your life was powerfully demonstrated by your continuing financial support and concert attendance during COVID, for which we are deeply grateful.  Your support enabled ARCA to safely present concerts and open the Red Brick Gallery, following guidelines at all times.  In fact, your inspired attendance achieved a record-setting number of sold-out performances in 2021.  Thank you for your trust and faith in our primarily volunteer-driven efforts and for your support that has touched so many lives through ARCA’s concerts, art exhibits and educational programs.

ARCA’s 2022  Season!

The 2022 season of concerts and Red Brick Gallery exhibits promises to be the most exciting in ARCA’s history – including the return by popular demand of ARCA favorites and debut performances of exciting nationally known touring artists:

  • Carnival of Souls will open the season on March 12, bringing their joyful mix of traditional Irish flavors to honor St. Patrick’s Day.  The internationally acclaimed ARCA favorite, The Alexander String Quartet, returns on March 27.  Nathan Carterette displays his poetic and dazzling pianistic prowess in Rachmaninoff Preludes and ballet music from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet on April 10.

  • Cabaret vocalist Dane Vannatter returns with a quartet of seasoned pros on April 23.  You won’t want to miss Joe Mullins and The Radio Ramblers on May 6 –  Bluegrass Entertainers of the Year in 2019 and Gospel Group of the year in 2021; The three concert Wurlitzer series begins Sunday, May 22 with Clark Wilson accompanying the 1925 silent comedy film, The Freshman, starring Harold Lloyd as well as playing his own arrangements and Broadway medleys.

  • Three Major Artists perform this Summer:  On June 11, charismatic vocalist and trumpeter Benny Benack III returns with an all-star group of New York session players along with his father, Benny Benack, Jr.  Young Benny III is enjoying an amazing coast-to-coast career.  Making ARCA debuts are the David Mayfield Parade on July 9 with virtuosic bluegrass and joyous showmanship worthy of a vaudeville act, and the multitalented keyboardist Dennis James on July 31 performs on both the Wurlitzer and Lincoln Hall Steinway playing Rhapsody in Blue to his own pre-recorded organ accompaniment – plus he introduces us to the glass armonica!

  • The popular outdoor concert at RiverStone Farm returns on August 14 with the spectacular nine-piece band InTransit  for twilight dancing– when Members attending the concert receive vouchers for free wine, beer and snacks.  Clarion’s own Katherine “Kool Kat” Farnham – internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter and pianist and nine-time Global Music Award winner – performs adult contemporary, jazz, Latin jazz and blues on Sept. 17.

  • Fall concerts begin on October 8 with the debut of the virtuosic-crossover violin-cello-piano trio TAKE3 – Classical virtuosos with rock star charisma. The fabulous Fast Track Veteran Star-Studded Bluegrass band returns on October 22, Katherine Soroka and Friends perform a classical cabaret Shall We Gather at the River on November 6 and David Allen Wehr offers an all-Chopin performance on November 20.  December brings back Carnival of Souls in a “Celtic Christmas” on December 4 and David Wickerham performs his beloved Wurlitzer Christmas concert on December 11.

  • Donna Edmonds, Red Brick Gallery Artistic Director, and Jason Floyd Lewis, Curator, promise another enticing year of special exhibits by guest artists and the introduction of five new Cooperative Artist members bringing exciting new art & merchandise!  Remember the RBG Gift Shop for those special gifts for birthdays, weddings and anniversaries.

This year the Red Brick Gallery and Gift Shop promises another enticing year of exhibits by both visiting artists and ARCA’s award-winning resident cooperative artists members.

Here is a list of concerts in the 2022 Season:

It’s a wonderful time to be a part of the Membership Family in 2022. All concerts will be presented in compliance with the ongoing Pennsylvania COVID guidelines.  This bold cultural adventure, bringing glorious music and art to the beautiful Allegheny-Clarion River Valley, continues to be possible only because of the support of ARCA’s loyal and generous Members and Donors. We thank you for your support in the past and invite you to be a part of this year’s exciting festivities

Once again your ARCA membership gives you discount pricing for events right here in the Valley that otherwise would only be available in larger cities at higher ticket prices (not to mention travel and parking). But as our ARCA family knows, it’s much more than that. ARCA is a place for you to come with your family and socialize with your friends and make new friends – at concerts, special Members events and at the very popular Meet the Artist and post-concert receptions at the Red Brick Gallery.

As ever, ARCA’s loyal and dedicated Members are the lifeblood of the organization.  The Board of Directors is deeply grateful to its Members for their continuing attendance at ARCA concerts and Red Brick Gallery exhibits and for their generous support during the past year and a half of COVID restrictions and cancellations.

Thank you for all you have done and given to ARCA as Members and volunteers.  To continue this artistic journey together, we ask that you renew your membership and consider an increased generous donation in support of the spectacular 2022 season.  We also invite you to continue to join us as audience members and ARCA-ambassadors, sharing with new people all that this organization offers and contributes to the community. The cultural jewel of the region!

We extend our sincere thanks to each of you and best wishes for a healthy and fulfilling year ahead.
