CHANTAL JOSEPH & STEEL CITY CALYPSO
Celebrate the beginning of Summer – and gentle breezes along the riverbank – wearing tropical garb and sipping sangria while being entertained by captivating vocal artist CHANTAL JOSEPH returning to Lincoln Hall with the Steel City Calypso band for an evening of Afro-Caribbean music on Saturday, June 6 at 7:30 PM in Foxburg in full bloom in the beautiful Allegheny-Clarion river valley. Dancing at the back of the hall.

Voted ‘Best R&B Performer’ in both 2021 and 2024 (Pittsburgh City Paper), Chantal is a singer-songwriter whose voice, musical passion, versatility and inner-and-outer beauty – are matched by her warmth and radiant personality.

Originally from Cape Cod, Chantal has performed at the Newport Jazz Festival, Indiana Jazz Festival, with the Boston Pops and Cape Symphony, and has toured with the Perry Rossi Orchestra.
Hot and in high demand in Pittsburgh, Chantal has been dazzling audiences, performing at Jergels recently in a concert with tribute bands Earth Wind & Fire & Michael/Janet Jackson, starring in a recent Valentine’s Show at Lincoln Park Center for the Performing Arts, and performing in A Celebration of Billy Strayhorn & Gene Kelly and a recent Whitney Houston Tribute directed by Dwayne Fulton – both at the Kelly Strayhorn Theatre.
Chantal has been a favorite at The Fairmont, City Winery, The Brick Shop, Carnegie Music Hall, Greer Cabaret Theatre Lounge, Edgewood Winery, Con Alma and appears weekly at Eddie V’s. She’s performed at The Hollywood Casino at The Meadows and the Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens with Hugo Cruz and the VOICE OF DRUMS musicians – singing and playing drums, as she has at Con Alma playing guitar and drums.

Chantal brings Steel City Calypso to ARCA’s Lincoln Hall after their performances together at Con Alma and Alphabet City in Pittsburgh.
Steel City Calypso performs everything from traditional calypso music from the island of Trinidad to a variety of music from different parts of the Caribbean and Brazil. This performance will focus on the history and role of the steel drums in Trinidad and Tobago, where the steel drums are the national instrument.

ARCA is grateful for the very generous donation of Linda and Michael Bradley sponsoring the return of Chantal Joseph and the Steel City Calypso band to Lincoln Hall.
