Bassist Benjamin May has recently moved to Pittsburgh after 30 years as a freelance jazz musician in Los Angeles working with notables like Ben Vereen, Joe Pass, Rosemary Clooney, and Anita O’Day; appearing with big bands, symphony orchestra and small combos; opening for Tony Bennett; and recording with various artists on over 40 CDs.

Enjoy Chantal’s artistry in this Zoom livestream performance coming out of COVID for a charity event of “Free” by Denise Williams accompanied here by pianist and composer Daniel May, who appeared with her frequently at The Fairmont Hotel and joins her at the keyboard in her April 20 Lincoln Hall performance.

Chantal is an entertainer! You’ll be dazzled by Chantal’s gorgeous voice, musical passion and inner-and-outer beauty, as she performs musical favorites from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and songs from artists Anita Baker, Roberta Flack, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Aretha Franklin and Nora Jones – plus jazz standards.

Here’s Chantal in R&B singer/songwriter Anita Baker’s “Sweet Love”.

Here she is in Steve Wonder’s “I Wish” at Pops By The Sea in Hyannis, MA, where she has appeared frequently in past seasons.

CHANTAL has been described in performance as a force of nature. Anyone who has seen her perform will agree.

They might also use adjectives like ‘high-energy’, ‘electric’ or offer comparisons to Tina Turner and Stephanie Mills.

But now more than ever, CHANTAL is determined to leave her own mark on the music industry.

Where others would give in to auto-tuned tracks and fashion trends, CHANTAL’S raw energy and fearless execution cut through the noise with the expressiveness and sensuality of yester year’s greats, but with a 21st Century twist that is necessary to drive the dialogue of today’s society.

But to really understand CHANTAL, you’ll have to come see for yourself in Foxburg’s Lincoln Hall.

For Chantal, music is a life-long journey in an adventure that has already had her share the studio and stage with the likes of Kenny Loggins, Dwayne Dolphin, Roger Humphries and Grace Kelly.

Chantal is more than just a feast for your eyes and music to your ears: CHANTAL is an experience, and you’re invited to be entertained by her magic, backed up by acclaimed musicians and composers in her band – Saturday, April 20 at 7:30 PM in Lincoln Hall.
