Visit Foxburg this season, glittering with Christmas decorations and shop locally for one-of-a-kind gifts for those special people on your list. The Red Brick Gallery and Gift Shop Annual Holiday Art Show & Exhibit will span over six weekends from Friday, November 10th to Sunday December 17th.
The Holiday Exhibit will feature original, high quality, artisan-made gifts created by Red Brick Gallery Cooperative Member Artists will be for sale on two floors of the gallery in a variety of media: Silver and gemstone jewelry, hand woven scarves, pottery, hand turned wooden vases, rustic wooden tables, wearable art, hand-made baskets, oil and watercolor paintings, pencil drawings, fine art photography, and greeting cards. There will be something for everyone on your holiday list, and maybe even a few items for yourself!
Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Art’s Red Brick Gallery is the region’s premier destination for the exhibition and sale of contemporary art, craft and design in Western Pennsylvania. The annual exhibit will showcase an expanded selection of new works from the members of the cooperative. Current members of the Red Brick Gallery Artist Cooperative are Cheri-Lee Anderton-Yarnell, Karin Arnds, Taylor Banner, Mark DeWalt, Donna Edmonds, Angela Taylor Hardwick, Kathy Hogg, John M. Karian, Dennis Keyes, Elizabeth Kriley, Jason Floyd Lewis, Karen Mortland, Nissa Rappoport, Linda Thompson, and Cathy and Jack Trzeciak.
The opening wine and cheese reception for the Holiday Art Show will be on Sunday, November 12 at 4:00 PM. The reception will be catered by Don Ras III and The Crow’s Cupboard of Parker, following Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Art’s 2 PM Lincoln Hall concert of solo piano masterworks by Grieg, Chopin, Schumann, Brahms, Liszt and Franck performed by internationally acclaimed Tchaikovsky Piano competition laureate, GAYLE MARTIN – known for her “deep seated emotional response to the music” (Washington Post) creating “A truly magical atmosphere”. Plan to celebrate the season, combining shopping in the Red Brick Gallery and Gift Shop with attending one of ARCA’s Holiday performances. Let the Beloved Songs of Christmas open your heart – as one of the world’s greatest theater organists, David Wickerham, returns by popular demand to Foxburg to share this Joyous Musical Celebration of the Season on Sunday, December 10 at 2 PM in Foxburg’s Lincoln Hall. Attend the genre-smashing, virtuosic-crossover trio with a flair for the wild and unexpected that describes their music as “where Bach and Bieber collide” – TAKE3 – returns to Lincoln Hall by enthusiastic popular acclaim on Sunday, December 17, at 2:00 PM in a combined holiday and classically popular program. They will bring the refinement of their rigorous classical music backgrounds infused with rock-star charisma to joyous and moving Christmas classics from their popular Christmas CD.
