The exhibit weaves together the strength of metal, the vibrancy of paint, and the presence of sculpture. Interwoven: The Art of Growth and Connection brings together the work of Rafi Perez and Klee Angelie in a celebration of resilience, creativity, and the ties that bind us as human beings.

Perez’s bold paintings and sculptures reflect the humor, chaos, and beauty of the human condition, embracing imperfection as part of the story. Angelie’s hammer-forged jewelry transforms raw metal and natural stones into flowing, organic forms that embody both strength and delicacy.

Together, their works create a space where art becomes more than an object—it becomes a reflection of growth, healing, and connection.

Interwoven: The Art of Growth and Connection

The works in this exhibition—paintings, sculptures, and jewelry—are all part of the same ongoing conversation about growth, resilience, and connection. Though they take different forms, they share a common thread: each piece carries the mark of process, the imprint of time, and the spirit of transformation.

The paintings invite viewers into textured, colorful explorations of the human condition. Layers of rawness and humor live side by side, reminding us that imperfection is not something to hide, but a vital part of the beauty of being alive.

The sculptures bring those ideas into physical form—bold, tactile structures that turn stories into three-dimensional experiences. They embody both strength and vulnerability, grounding abstract ideas in something you can see, feel, and even walk around.

The jewelry carries these same themes on an intimate scale. Hammer-forged and often set with natural stones, each piece is a reminder that the things we wear close to us can reflect the resilience of nature and the quiet power of human spirit.

Together, these works are interwoven—a celebration of how creativity crosses boundaries of medium and form, while always pointing back to the same truth: that art, in all its shapes and sizes, helps us connect to ourselves, to each other, and to the larger story of growth we’re all a part of.

About the Artists

Artist Statement Bio – Klee Angelie (Jewelry Designer)

Klee Angelie creates hammer-forged jewelry that embodies resilience, transformation, and connection. Each piece is shaped through the rhythmic strikes of the hammer, a process that mirrors the way growth emerges under pressure and time. Her designs often feature flowing lines and organic textures, echoing the quiet strength and intricate balance found in nature.

Parallel to her musical explorations, Angelie developed a profound fascination with the natural world, particularly with the stones she discovered along the shores of Lake Superior. The magic and beauty of these colorful treasures captivated her imagination, sowing the seeds of what would blossom into her career in jewelry design. This early appreciation for the mystery of natural stones—and the way light moves through an object—continues to inform her unique approach to creating jewelry that resonates with both the earth’s stories and the human spirit.

In Interwoven: The Art of Growth and Connection, Angelie’s work serves as an intimate reminder that jewelry is more than ornament—it is a vessel of meaning. Each forged curve and stone setting reflects not only the artist’s hand but also the universal experiences of resilience, beauty, and the profound connections that shape our lives.

Artist Statement Bio – Rafi Perez (Award Winning Artist)

Rafi Perez’s work is rooted in the messy, beautiful, and often contradictory layers of being human. Through bold colors, expressive textures, and symbolic figures, he explores the threads that connect us—our stories, struggles, and the moments of growth that emerge from them.

For Perez, art is less about creating something perfect and more about creating something true. Each brushstroke becomes an act of honesty, a way of unearthing the quiet resilience that lies beneath life’s chaos. Humor and rawness often weave through his pieces, reflecting his belief that real connection comes not from polished surfaces, but from shared imperfections.

Interwoven: The Art of Growth and Connection reflects Perez’s ongoing journey of examining how individuals and communities hold space for one another. His work in this exhibition serves as a reminder that growth does not happen in isolation—it unfolds through the connections we make, the forgiveness we offer, and the stories we share.

In a world that can feel fragmented, Perez’s art seeks to pull those threads back together, reminding us that growth is not linear and connection is never static—it is alive, imperfect, and worth celebrating.
